I attended Pinecrest, Van Nuys from Kindergarten until the 3rd grade, between the years of '92-'97 I dearly miss many of my old friends and would love to get in touch with them. After the 1994 earthquake, our family was forced to move out of the Sherman Oaks area because of the damage done to our house! Email (3/3/08)

I attended Pinecrest in the first and second grade (1962-64) before my parents went bankrupt. I really enjoyed the school, and I remember the Dye family running the school. When my mother got sick with cancer, I spent a month or so in the boarding school at Pinecrest. It helped shape my life to this day. Thanks! Email (2/1/5/08)

I attended both Pinecrest Van Nuys and ... Pinecrest Prep., and I must say I have nothing but fond memories of the schools, teachers, and my classmates. Having classes with (especially) Mrs. Rossi at Van Nuys and Ms. Frachtling at Prep. remain firmly in my mind after lo these many years. As for me, I took the encouragement and rigorous study habits from Pinecrest and eventually ended up a Lecturer in the Department of Comparative Studies at Ohio State University. Much of what I am as a (perennial) student and academic I took from my years at Pinecrest. Email (10/25/07)

I recently visited your toddler center in Woodland Hills to put our 14 month old son Christopher on the waiting list. I have not been to a Pinecrest campus in over 20 years and I have to say the facilities I saw were very impressive. My husband (Tony) and I are both alumni’s, graduating from Pinecrest Van Nuys (6th grade) in 1983. Needless to say Pinecrest is our #1 choice for our son! (9/15/07)

I went to Pinecrest school when I was little back in 1997 and I'm trying to look for some of my friends who went to the same school as me and I'm trying to look for my teacher. It would be really nice to find every one and catch up on old times. I'm not sure what Pinecrest I went to. I think it is Van nuys but I lived in North Hollywood California if that helps anybody to figure out if they went to the same school as me. (4/17/07)

Greetings Mrs. Dye Lynch,
Mrs. Edna Mae Dye had more of an impact on my life than any other person before, or after her. All my values were instilled in me by her simple creed, from the Bible, 'Do unto others as you would have them do to you'. When she walked into a classroom, time stopped. I still see those steely eyes and her hands clasped behind her back, walking through the room as a General in a war. "She was determined to produce respectful students.... Because of her I still say 'sir' and 'maam' as situations dictate." I'm 52 and in this day those words are rarely heard. I left in 1966 to go to Van Nuys Junior High and was wondering about any of my old classmates. Do you have some site to find old friends? I live in the woods of Maine now. I don't care for crowds. Thanks for all that I'm sure you folks still do to make children better. Email (2/12/07) |
