“Creative Movement”
A fun filled dance class suitable for all
students
in all grades
is now being
offered at Pinecrest Northridge
The fundamentals of Jazz and modern dance techniques are covered in
this class. It is open to all level dancers. Students will learn to move
creatively across the dance floor while incorporating music. Basic dance
routines will be taught as well as terminology, stretches, turns, floor work
and classroom etiquette. We will work on proper placement of the posture
while dancing. The emphasis is placed on the development of positive self
esteem and encouraging creative expression. This class will supply
students with the necessary tools to advance to the next level in dance and
foster an appreciation for the “art of dance” for a lifetime!
Note: Students are encouraged to enroll ASAP. This is a popular class and
openings fill up quickly.

About the Instructor
Donna Stepteau has over 25 years experience as a dancer, teacher and
performer. Donna received her Master’s of Fine Arts Degree in Management
from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from
Binghampton University. She is currently the Director of Dance Workshops
Unlimited, a California based company that designs dance workshops for
Private, Independent and Public Schools.
She attended the Alvin Ailey Professional Dance School, in Manhattan N.Y.
While at the school, she studied ballet, jazz, modern, creative movement,
Horton, and Dunham dance techniques. Donna has worked as a dancer in
both film and television. She also performed as a dancer in a Conneticut
theatre production of “Dream Girls”. She is currently a member of the
Shirley Martin Dance Company based in North Hollywood, CA. and a
mother of three children who attended Pinecrest School in Northridge, CA.
Donna is looking forward to sharing her talents and experience with the
Pinecrest Community. |
