Classroom Computers
In addition, each of the Kindergarten
through 6th grade classrooms have two or more Windows
based computers. Classroom teachers
regularly give students the opportunity to practice
curriculum related skills on their computers. Third through 6th grade classrooms
are connected to the Internet.
In our Resource Center, there
are two Windows computers with CD-ROMs available to
students to access research tools and to develop library
skills. Internet access is also available in
the library for students and teachers.
The Science
Lab has six Windows based computers which
are used for science projects and research.
We continue to look for meaningful
ways to use computers to enhance instruction and to
allow children to learn about technology at an early
age.
- INTERNET USAGE
-
A number of the computer classes will be participating in projects this year that involve Internet use. Students will need to have a signed Internet Use Form on file in order to use the Internet for these projects.
Students who do not have a form on
file will be provided with alternate methods of doing these
projects, such as Electronic Encyclopedias and books. If you would like your child to be able
to use the Internet, and they have not yet submitted an
Internet Use Form, print one out below, review it with your
child, then sign and return to Ms. Ames in the computer
lab or the office.
In addition, students who are
doing research for the science fair or other class projects,
may use the Internet in the library or computer room if
their Internet Use Form is on file.
The Internet may not be used at school for surfing, play or non-school related activities.
