Wang Yani
(aka Helen S.)
Hi, my name is Wang Yani. I lived in a small beautiful town with green hills, clear lakes, and ancient temples. My dad was a good painter and my mom worked at a toy store. I had three pets. One of them was a monkey called Linda. I was born in the 'Year of the Rabbit'. I do not paint to get praise from others, just to play a game of endless joy.
My dad encouraged me to paint using my own imagination and memory. Once I was walking with my dad when I stopped. I started to pick up pebbles. I told my dad they looked like monkeys. When I was four years old one of my pictures was made into a stamp. The picture showed a monkey scratching its mom's back. Once I tried some wine, but it was so strong for me, so the next day I drew a picture of two drunken monkeys. Many people liked my paintings because they were funny and told stories. Since the age of ten I held solo exhibitions in many countries. When I was 14 years old I traveled to Washington D.C. for my exhibition called "The Rush of Innocence."
I live in Germany now and I paint for an art gallery.
