California Missions and More!

Teachers, Mrs. Terry Seay, Mr. Michael Robinson and Mrs. Machelle Christians

June 13, 2008 - Fourth graders took the audience on a tour of early California up to statehood. The play began just before the arrival of Cabrillo in 1542, exploring the life of California Indians before hispanic colonization and settlement. Missions, presidios, and pueblos came next. With tough rancheros, bold Russian and American traders, as well as the adventures in the war with Mexico and the gold rush, the students played colorful characters and sang catchy songs to entertain the audience, while explaining what they learned about early California.
