Mrs. Matthes Accepts Principal's Position at Pinecrest Van Nuys

Dear Pinecrest Families:

I am pleased to announce that Mrs. Kimberly Matthes has accepted the position of Principal at Pinecrest Van Nuys beginning this summer. This position has been tailored to meet the needs of the campus and utilize her strengths, while working together with Ms. Johnson, our Middle School Dean and me, your Campus Director. Together, we will continue to serve the children, parents, and staff in our learning community at Pinecrest Van Nuys.

Mrs. Matthes had been in the field of Education for over twelve years. Five of those years have been at Pinecrest Van Nuys. During the last five years, Mrs. Matthes has had the opportunity to work with administration and has taught Middle School while working with all the various grade levels as a resource teacher. In addition to performing the duties as Principal, she will continue to teach a Middle School class or two.

Her new assignment will begin this summer, although we are preparing for her transition now. Mrs. Matthes is expecting a baby in September. She plans to be here all summer and for school on September 1st. She will be out most of September on Maternity Leave, but plans to return in October. Of course, Dean Johnson and I will be here in September and October to support the students and parents. Please feel free to introduce yourself and welcome Mrs. Matthes. Her classroom is upstairs in Room 18.
