The fundamental purpose of Pinecrest Schools is to provide quality instruction - based on the highest academic standards - to preschool, primary, intermediate and junior high school students. Our learning environment is organized along traditional principles of education, although we do take full advantage of up-to-date technology and proven methods of instruction.

Along with academic achievement, we stress the development of creativity, character and citizenship. These traits, important enough in their own right, are also mutually supportive. Strength in creative thinking combine with strength in academics to develop character, the foundation of good citizenship.

We take to heart the belief that every student is an individual, with differing needs and abilities. Children of elementary age, in particular, vary greatly in their rates of achievement. No two students experience an equal degree of mental or physical development at the same time. We feel it is essential to be aware of the needs of each student, and to help them make the most of their abilities at every age.

At Pinecrest, we believe every new experience is a crisis in self-esteem - and we keep this in mind as we challenge the skills of the student. We want every child to become aware of his or her individual self-worth and to know that he or she is a very special person.

This, then, is the Pinecrest ideal: the intellectual, moral and physical development of each student - achieved through a program of studies, student activities and athletics designed to stimulate interest and creativity.
