Assignment:  Students will take Accelerated Reader quizzes on both books when they return in September. The points for "AI Capone Does My Shirts" will be counted towards their Accelerated Reader Program semester totals. There will also be discussion groups in the fall for the Pigman novel.

#1  Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card
Assignment:  Students will write a well-constructed paragraph on each of the following questions.  This assignment is due to be submitted in literature class the day of the first meeting of that class.
Questions:

• What is the significance of the title Ender’s Game?
• Who is the “Speaker For The Dead” and what message does he carry from the hive-queen?

#2 The Pigman by Paul Zindel

#3 Tunnels by Roderick Cordon & Brian Williams

Assignment: Students will take Accelerated Reader quizzes on all three books when they return in September. The points for "Tunnels" will he counted towards their Accelerated Reader Program semester totals. There will also be discussion groups in the fall for the Pigman novel.
