Applying the following rubric guidelines will assist you in developing a well-written essay.

• My focus is on the topic and demonstrates a clear sense of audience
• My essay has a strong beginning, middle and ending
• Each paragraph has at least three supporting details
• Ideas are in logical order
• Sentences contain a wide variety of sentence types and use precise descriptive language
• I write in complete sentences
• My paragraphs are indented and my writing is neat and can be easily read
